Privacy at Computus

The short version
Your math is yours. Computus runs its calculations entirely in your browser. We run no ads, no analytics, and no tracking scripts.
What stays on your device
- Calculations, sessions, notes, files, custom functions and settings — stored in your browser's local storage / IndexedDB.
- Your AI provider API key — stored locally, unencrypted, and sent directly from your browser to the provider you choose. It never touches Computus servers.
What leaves your device (only if you choose)
- AI chat — messages you send go to the AI provider you configure (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.), governed by that provider's privacy policy. Don't paste personal data or secrets into chat.
- Account, forum & marketplace — if you sign in, your username, posts and published functions are stored in our cloud (Google Firebase) so they can sync and be shared. Publishing a function makes its code public.
- Marketplace review — submitted functions are sent to an automated AI reviewer (Mistral) through our proxy before publication.
Cookies
We set no tracking cookies. The site uses only your browser's local storage for the features above.
Your control
Settings → About & Data lets you export everything or delete all local data at any time. For account data removal, contact us via the forum.
Students
Computus is built by students, for students. You can use every tool without an account. If you're under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country), please ask a parent or guardian before creating an account.
